All of Us Mobile Education and Enrollment Center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 8/23/2024

Council Bluffs, IA – On Tuesday, September 10 to Friday, September 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the All of Us Mobile Education and Enrollment Center will be in the parking lot of the Council Bluffs Public Library.

All of Us is a project of the National Institute of Health (NIH). The goal of the project is to build one of the largest and most diverse health databases that is used for research to learn more about why people get sick or stay healthy and what makes us unique in order to find better ways to prevent and treat illnesses.

An exhibit will be on display, educating about the project and a mobile clinic on hand to collect blood samples for those who choose to donate. By donating blood samples, you can help further this research.

Donors will receive their DNA sequencing results, including if they carry any genetic abnormalities, as well as tracing ancestry back 500 years! No identifiable, personal information is shared in this database.

Throughout the week, organizations within the community will be present to share health and healthy living information.
