Council Bluffs Public Library Invites Community to OUR Community Reads 2025 Culture Fest

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA. (February 28, 2025) – The Council Bluffs Public Library invites all members of the community to celebrate and discover culture at the OUR Community Reads 2025 kickoff event on March 8th, 2025. This year the event will be a “Culture Fest” with many partner organizations sharing activities that support different cultural groups and traditions.

“Culture Fest will be a wonderful celebration and introduction to crafts, language, food, and drink from different cultural organizations in our region,” says Antonia Krupicka-Smith, Director of the Council Bluffs Public Library. “This year we are excited to partner with Iowa Western Community College to provide food samples from different international backgrounds prepared by their culinary arts students and delivered through their new Food Truck program. This is just one of the wonderful activities to experience on this day.”

During the event on March 8th, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., community members of all ages can participate in crafts, learn different games, contributing to the Wings Around Town art project, taste different foods and drinks, and learn about different organizations with culture at the core of their mission. All activities will be at the Council Bluffs Public Library location on Willow Avenue in Council Bluffs, IA.  The event is a drop-in event, and no registration is required.

The event is made possible financially through the support from the Council Bluffs Public Library Foundation and the Friends of the Council Bluffs Public Library. Activities at Culture Fest are provided in partnership with Iowa Western Community College, African Culture Connection, American Historical Society of Germans from Russia, The CommUnity Project, World Speaks, and Iowa School for the Deaf.
